I’ve seen the new Star Trek as I am sure a few million others will in the next few days. I liked it so much I can't stop thinking about it. With Star Trek on the mind of so many I think the time is right to bring a couple of my favorite things together, Star Trek and Photoshop. There’s a little something for everyone including a couple of nice video tutorials from Photoshop Admirals (Deke and Corey Barker). If you know of other great Trek oriented Photoshop tutorials please post a link to them in the comment area below. By the way, another reason to mention Andrew Karmer, the end title credits kicked butt thanks to his talent!
Set your mouse to kill and live long and photoshop.
- Sixties Space Siren from Deke. This is my favorite Trek oriented tutorial. Deke’s fun talk about Captain James T. Kirk is as exciting as the tutorials results.
- Star Trek Poster Effect - Corey Barker is always right on target with his fun tutorials.
- Create a Space Explosion From Scratch in Photoshop. It’s from psdtuts.com. Yes it’s 32 steps but the results are worth the effort.
- Awesome digital bokeh effect in Photoshop - Strickly speaking not a Star Trek tutorial but I sure remember seeing some of the look on the original episodes. Thanks to abduzeedo.com.
- Warp speed effect offers nice results very quickly. From dptotonews.com.
- How to put Spock from Star Trek into Mount Rushmore. If you build it he will come.
- Awesome Enterprise layout gives you the look of the next generation console for your web design.
