Take note, there's a new CampPhotoshop freebie. When you take that note you can typeset it in a new font I created called "Designer Notes". This is a personal project that's been on my to-do list for a long time. I wanted a font that matched the appearance of notes in my sketchbook. I like to do sketches and take notes using a Pilot Precise V5RT pen. There's something special about how it puts ink on paper.
Generally speaking, this font falls in the script/handwriting font style. I made two versions, regular and bold. The bold version has a nice "written on a napkin" feel to it (looks link the ink has bleed a bit). The fonts are in the True Type or .ttf format so you can install on your Mac or PC. Download "Designer Notes" and have fun!
The font is FREE to anyone who is signed up here at campphotoshop.com. Our standard License applies.

About this freebie: First of all this is a mostly complete font! You will font the most common punction etc so that font has some flexibility. I drew the shapes using a Pilot Precise V5RT, scanned on Epson V100, cleaned up the scan in Photoshop CS4. Once the art was clean I used ScanFont 5 to capture the letter shapes and FontLab 4 to refine the shapes and spacing as well as outout the .ttf files. I did work on a couple of the letter shapes in Illustrator CS4 as well. As for time invested, this took longer than I expected but some ot the time was learning FontLab 4 (it's a steep learning curve).

This is fantastic. Clear and
This is fantastic. Clear and easily readable at a glance, unlike some handwriting fonts. I'm signing up to Camp Photoshop, though I still don't yet have Photoshop (I use Pixelmator instead at the moment). I'm not impressed with the Captcha however, five attempts so far.
Ian, glad you like the font.
