David Occhino of www.davidocchino.com released a new calligraphy elvish font called Firefly. Firefly is light and fluid in the spirit of a brush stroke typeface.
After giving it some thought, smooth jazz came to mind. So I went to work to create something to demonstrate this new font. I was thinking spring, smooth and jazz. Sounds very attractive with snow still on the ground. What I show here is actually a of rework some art I put together about a year ago for a client’s brochure. The final design is a combination of iStock.com vector files and my own elements. I decided to rework it, with Firefly as a guide, into a Kansas City spring jazz festival themed poster. As a final touch I ran it through the Mister Retro Permanent Press filter. Click here to see a high resolution version of the final results.

Firefly is a real value. It comes in a regular version and an alternate. Both version come in a regualr and bold weight so you get 4 fonts for only $20. Other important details for a professional appearance have been considered as well like complete punctuation and careful spacing and kerning. All Occhino fonts come with the same attention to quality and detail. Make sure and check out other recent releases Nautilus (20,000 Leagues Under the Sea font), Emblem (car font), TradeWind (pirate font) and Hocus Pocus (Harry Potter font).
So when you need to add a smooth fluid flavor to your design consider Firefly.
