Photoshop This Week: Top Five 02.06.09

Photoshop This Week: Top Five 02.06.09

This weeks list is a bit chaotic. No real theme just a list of interesting items. As always, I post this list each week. If you find it interesting, make sure and check out my past and future editions. Subscribe to this blog’s RSS feed – and don’t hesitate to let me know if I missed something!

  1. Wordle: Wordle is a web based Java application for generating “word clouds” from provided text. You can print out, or save them to the Wordle gallery … maybe use in your next Photoshop based design? I created the graphic for this post using Wordle. Mostly it’s just fun to play with.
  2. Julieanne Kost on Photoshop User TV: Julieanne Kost appeared on Photoshop User TV this week. I’d never heard of Julieanne so I looked her up. She is a very talented artist that works for Adobe Systems and currently serves as the Graphic Arts Evangelist. Check out her blog, photography site and book of photography taken from airplane windows.
  3. Making of “Color Combustion” a Photo Manipulation: I don’t know what “Color Combustion” is but it sure looks amazing.
  4. Don’t think you need to backup a Drobo? Think again!: I wrote a post here a few months ago about Drobo. Although I like my Drobo I don’t recommend it as your single backup source. Once you read this story from Terry White I think you’ll agree.
  5. Everything You Need to Know About Printer Ink: OK this is everything but it’s a good source for why ink cost want it does and general info on how to get good prints.

Do you like this week’s list? Did I miss anything? Post your additions here. Got something for next week? Email me and let me know.
