This week I’m psyched about the new Photoshop Marketplace. This might be the goto place for Photoshop users. We’ll know for sure in six months. Got some other good items and another chance to mention Andrew Kramer! As usual, I post this list each week. Yes that’s each and every week! If you find it interesting, make sure and check out my past and future editions. Subscribe to this blog’s RSS feed – and don’t hesitate to let me know if I missed something!
- Adobe invites partners to Photoshop Marketplace: This looks very exciting. A central location for Photoshop resources. This has been tried before but it looks like Adobe might be on the right track. Here’s how they describe it, “Adobe® Photoshop® Marketplace presents the most comprehensive collection of Photoshop related products, services, and communities available — all designed to enhance the inherent power of Photoshop. Whether you want to learn professional-level image manipulation, find specific plug-ins, or locate a local Photoshop User Group or workshop, you've discovered the ultimate resource.”
- WIRED MAGAZINE: ISSUE 17.05: Not directly a Photoshop item but a creative and thought provoking one. I’m a big LOST fan and excited about the new Star Trek reboot. The man behind both of those favorites is J.J. Abrams. When I found out that Abrams was the guest editor of the newest issue of Wired magazine I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. Abrams feature article gets at the heart of why a mystery is exciting. Plus right on page 056 is a shout out from Abrams to my favorite After Effects wizard, Andrew Kramer.
- Giving Yourself a Photo Assignment: This is a nice idea that I myself don't think about often enough. I give myself photo assignments but I don't give the assignments much thought. I’ll bet if I did I’d come up with some better images.
- Google Labs releases Similar Images Search: If you search for image as often as I do you will find this helpful. Google released a new service that provides similar images based on an image selected from your image search results. Hows that for handy?
- Ultimate Collection Of Useful Photoshop Plug-Ins: Need to know what plug-ins are available and what they can do? This list is not complete but it does cover some very powerful and handy plug-ins.
