Photoshop This Week: Top Five 05.22.09

Looking for some energized inspiration? I’ve got five of them for you. The “don’t miss” this week is Vincent Versace’s guest appearance on Scott Kelby’s blog. As usual, I post this list each week. If you find it interesting, make sure and check out my past and future editions. Subscribe to this blog’s RSS feed – and don’t hesitate to let me know if I missed something!

  1. It’s “Guest Blog Wednesday” featuring Vincent Versace!: Vincent shares a chapter of a book he’s writing called Return to Oz. Inspirational stuff! In addition there’s a great Youtube video and a PDF link to a few pages of his book Welcome to Oz. This is a must read and see. A small side note, Vincent Versace was one of the influences when my wife and I were deciding on a name for our youngest son.
  2. Bob Peak: Father of The Modern Hollywood Poster: I’ve always been drawn to the fine work of Bob Peak. If you’ve never heard of Bob Peak here’s a mini bio from posterwire.com, “Bob Peak was one of the bedrocks of classic movie poster illustration. His key art and promotional artwork for films includes West Side Story, My Fair Lady, Camelot, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Superman, and Apocalypse Now.”
  3. CS4: Faux HDR Effects: Much requested faux HDR how to by wild and wacky Russell Brown using Adobe Camera RAW. Via John Nack.
  4. 12 Incredible Abstract and Surreal Light Effects Photography Inspiration #15: Light effects like this have been popular for a while...I think since Sprint started using them in their ads last year. This is a nice commection of like lighting effects.
  5. Create Glowing Energy Effect: This tutorial has some nice details and an interesting use of the render clouds fliter.
