Trick or Treat - “The Visitor - The Final Cut”

Trick or Treat - “The Visitor - The Final Cut”

Trick or Treat - “The Visitor - The Final Cut” is a little Halloween fun from Camp Photoshop. I’ve had this fear-fascination with aliens since I was a kid. I thought it would be fun to share that. Maybe I’ll scare you. Maybe you’ll laugh. In any case, I hope you are entertained. WATCH IT HERE!

For those interested here’s the production details. Most of this was shot with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2 in the 16:9 aspect ratio. This is a point and shoot recommended by Stu Maschwitz. The aliens were created from an iStock image in Photoshop. The editing was done in Final Cut Pro. Most of the sound effects are from the Digital Juice soundfx libraries. The final over the top image vibrations were generated in After Effects with the Twitch plug-in from Andrew Karmer and videocopilot.net. I stuck to the presents because they kick butt. There’s also a few sound effects that came with the Twitch package (a great buy for only $45).

If you’re still reading, here’s some trivia. The aliens actually show up three times not counting Spock on the "Entertainment Weekly" Star Trek cover. Can you find them? Why the added “The Final Cut” to the title? This is actually the second version of “The Visitor” that I made. I felt rushed on the first version that had a deadline for a contest entry. You can watch the first cut here. My oldest son helped with some of the shoot. My wife’s insight regarding the pacing made it much better than my original concept.
