Photoshop World 2008

Photoshop World 2008

If you are one of the lucky people reading this post you are reading a pre site launch post. This site officially goes live April 1st 2008. I'm launching the site officially the day before Photoshop World East 2008. I'll be attending and plan on making at least one blog post while I'm in Orlando. I'll make more than one post if the event or news warrants it. If you don't know what Photoshop world is you can learn more here.  read more

Everything has a beginning

Image from iStock.com #5202633

Welcome to the beginning. So what is this web site about? It's about Photoshop tutorials and what I have to say about Photoshop and the Photoshop tutorials I make.

So who are these tutorials for? Photoshopfoundry's tutorials are created for visual learners. Although the standard tools and commands are very straightforward, beginner and intermediate designers can benefit from the hundreds of special effects and professional image editing that makes the program special.  read more

Photoshop World now called "Photoshop Dude"

Live from Photoshop World (PSW) Orlando 2008. The main conference started today. On my short walk to the Orlando Conference Center this morning I was chatting with a new friend from Germany when we noticed that Matt Kloskowski and Dave Cross were right next to us. I struck up a friendly conversation with Matt and Dave. I tried to get to the scoop on the keynote but didn’t have any luck. All I got from Matt was a comment about the ridiculous outfit they wanted him to wear.  read more

What's new With Adobe at Photoshop World Orlando 2008?

Photoshop CS4

Adobe Photoshop Express, Adobe Lightroom 2 and Photoshop CS4 … When Adobe comes to Photoshop World I can understand their need to make some news at the event... They’ve got a few thousand enthusiastic Photoshop users all in one place so they better take advantage of it. The tease for Photoshop CS4 was … not a very enticing tease. It’s going to take more than a new refined selection tool to get users to upgrade. I guess they have time.  read more

Ok so it’s been over a week since I posted. I want to provide you with an update about the Camp. There is continued production here at Camp Photoshop but right now it’s all behind the scenes. I’ve got one tutorial in the can, one outlined and one on deck. Finally We Know!

It seems very appropriate that I'm posting this on a Saturday night. Ok, you may or may not have heard about Donnie Hoyle and the YouTube.com series You Suck at Photoshop. If you haven’t and you love Photoshop and great comedy, check it out (warning adult content).

As a Photoshop ACE myself. I couldn’t help but be entertained by the 10 tutorials Donnie posted. I knew that it had to be someone who actually understood the program. I thought there was a chance that Donnie was actually Deke McClelland. Deke seems to have a great sense of humor and is a Photoshop ninja. I also thought it might be someone from the Scott Kelby group.  read more

Polaroid Fun Without the Camera or Film

Polaroid Fun Without the Camera or Film

I love Polaroids, so when I ran across Poladroid.net last week I was intrigued. It may have to do with my age, but the Polaroid picture was not just a cool technology when I was a kid, it was the way we saw the world in pictures. Everyone had one. Most of my family pictures from the age of six to 16 are Polaroids.  read more

"What do you use Photoshop for?" Poll Results

“What do you use Photoshop for?” Based on the results of this non-scientific poll, my experiences at Photoshop World have been confirmed, Photoshop appeals to many different types of image enthusiasts. A third are professional photographers, a third are hobbyists and nearly a third are professional graphic designers. Only a small percentage chose other design profession. So Photoshop is very versatile and appeals to many. No real news there.  read more
